WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO WASH A PLASTIC DECK?
The best way to wash a deck depends on how old the plastic decking is. Railing manufacturers recommend using a diluted bleach, water and soap mixture and then use a soft scrub brush to agitate the deep dirt, mold, mildew, moss and lichen. A lower pressure will be used to apply and rinse the decking clean. Sometimes using a higher pressure is necessary but the correct pressure and washing tip must be used.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO WASH A WOOD DECK?
The process to wash a wood deck depends on the condition of the wood, type of wood and if there is a stain or paint on the decking or railings. An older, softer wood deck may be damaged with a higher pressure wash so the first step would be to apply a soft wash solution to remove the dirt, mold, mildew, moss or lichen. Then scrub the area followed by a low pressure rinse.
A newer wood deck will be the same process but may be able to withstand a higher pressure. Stained and painted decking is also washed using the soft wash method and brushing it clean. Any deck should be washed before applying new stain or paint to clean the area for proper application.

WHAT IS THE COST TO WASH A DECK?
The cost depends on the size, condition, height, drainage and how dirty it is.
Typically a deck wash is between $100 - $300 but may cost more for larger or more complicated projects.
